Project Outcomes

Outcome No. 1 Needs analysis

All project partners asked local experts and stakeholders (employment service officers, social partners, public administration officers, social workers, youth organization representatives) about  the needs in coaching and counseling services for young people in their area, the conditions and framework to establish the vocational training assistance on the local level and about the qualification requirements of the train-the-trainer concept.  Furthermore, additional tools and best practice for the common toolbox were collected from local stakeholders ( for promoting entrepreneurship, intercultural competences, personal development, etc.).

On the basis of the questionnaires each partner interviewed local stakeholders. In addition, data and literature research in all partner countries has been undertaken by each partner.

Outcome No. 2 Competence profile and Train The Trainer concept

This output has 2 parts:

1. competence profile= Competence profile of Youthcoach is provided as a table with detailed definition of expected knowledge, skills, competences and learning outcomes in order to facilitate the further usage and recognition of competences in other training programs (ECVET-systematic)

Outcome No. 3 Toolbox

Toolbox is a selection of the practical methods, exercises, good practices which helps to the youth coaches work with young people. Toolbox consist of more than 50 tools gathered by partnership from their practice. Tools consist of description how to use them and as well guidelines and goals of the exercise. All of the tools are very practical and focused on the goal to support young people in their process of education and as well after, when they search for the job. All the tools are well described, practical and reaching the goal. All the tools are in English and are available on project website. They are open to public and professionals to download them and use for free.

This handbook provides information on Jugendcoaching, developed in Austria. Theoretical background, basics for counsellors, coaches and trainers as well as practical realization such as methods and tools for workshops and individual counselling.


This is a group activity of pair work in which participants find time to word their thoughts and troubles. It reinforces exchange with other participants and shows how to focus on positive wishes and resources.


This is a group activity starting with a game and leading to reflection on how participants deal with difficult situations.

Which learning type are you?

The following tool for counselling should facilitate an insight in different ways of learning to the adolescents. It can be applied to clarify which learning strategies are meaningful for the client.

The potential analysis

It is a tool is used for an individual interview. It can be used to get to know the client better. The potential analysis focuses completely on potentials, competences and skills.

The project journal

This tools for counselling gives insights in how to motivate clients to use a journal and how to work with is as trainer in a sensitive way.

Self-perception and external perception from peers

This tool can serve as a comparison of self perception and external perception of adolescents and their family and peers.


It is a group activity helping to break the ice at the beginning of workshops or seminars. Participants get to know each other in a non-formal way and it relaxes the atmosphere.

This tool for counselling helps to find out interests, strengths and weaknesses of your client. Therefore it enables to set achievable goals.

A tool to reflect on a work day during vocational training. It can be used for counselling or as a group activity.

This game helps to lighten up training, workshops and seminars.

A Virtual Company

A virtual company represents a method which enables young people to obtain and develop new practical skills and work habits. This method involves simulation of real processes, situations and working tasks which are faced by employees of real companies.

How to succeed in a job interview

This proven method helps clients prepare for a selection procedure, particularly for that part of the procedure in which they are asked questions by the employer’s representative (usually the employee of a human resources department).

Getting familiarized with the job through a workplace tour 

This method helps the client learn about the specific characteristics and requirements of the profession through a tour round the workplace. Apart from showing the client the workplace and the work activities, the tour also includes an interview with an employee who has been working in the profession for a long time.

Rocket – energy for my goal 

This method is used for goal planning. It facilitates analysis of the motivation for a specific goal. On the grounds of the analysis, the client can decide whether their motivation and energy for the given goal are sufficient. The basis of the method is the use of a picture of a rocket. First, the client notes down information in the picture, and subsequently, this information is evaluated. The method can also help choose the most appropriate goal if there are more than one.

Role playing

Role Playing is one of the methods of active learning whose didactic principle consists in inducing a model situation similar to a real situation for which the client is being prepared.

Solution generator

This tool helps to generate various solutions for identified problem and prepare brief plan of its implementation. It use both individual and group work.

Be employed and unemployed

This tool helps young people think about the consequences of employment and unemployment as well as helps reflect, discuss and understand their position in the job market.

Case Study of EBC*L Enterprise

This case study is a good example for involving all project stakeholders and for making visible the outputs of the project. Moreover, it shows away to increase accountability of the participants by putting them into the spotlight.

Enterprising Initiative

This initiative was developed in the VET school CIPFP Mislata, in Valencia (Spain). The programme aims the develop of enterprising spirit among the students through a methodology that combines actions for increasing sensitivity among teachers and students and the development of viable business projects using innovative learning processes linked to new technologies.


EXPERTemprende is an educational programme (competition) for the promotion of enterprising initiative and culture among students of High VET through setting up projects with possibilities of being developed in Extremadura.


This educational Project is based in a model of second opportunity. They support the continuation of the educational pathways, making them comprehensive and personalized, alternating quality work and training. Students are guided and supported in their transition to adult life, the return to educational system and the improving of employability to come back to labour market in better conditions.


TEENemprende is an educational programme for the promotion of entrepreneurship addressed to discover and improve the enterprising skills of students from ESO and initial VET through the development of a transforming project for their environment.

The positive orientation in the future as a means of shaping the career

The positive orientation in the future can help people at the various stages of their lives to broaden their understanding of what is possible and likely, to deeply understand themselves and to express their view on themselves in the future.

Determination of the desired customer status

In exercising this technique the counselor guides the client to develop a realistic career goal and to identify the needs, the satisfaction of which leads to this goal. The goal of career should not be a generic unattainable. Instead it should be specific, realistic, measurable and achievable within a set time. The aim leads to changes in the customer's current situation called desired state. What is missing from the client and what we have to follow in order to reach the goal and the desired condition is called necessity.

Career planning

Career planning is one of the method whereby the consultant has all the necessary resources to assist the customer in order to create an action plan for careers in order to achieve the professional goal of customer (desired state). The plan should be specific and include long-term goal and the specific objectives which fall into specific and achievable steps.
